DOORYARD BURNING
Burn permits are required throughout the El Medio Fire Protection District and are available only from El Medio Fire Station 3.
Burn Permits cost $10 dollars and are good for one years time.

Burn ORGANIC MATERIAL ONLY in small heaps or piles.
- Burning hours are from 6:00am to 11:00am
- Before burning call (530) 896-2537 for burn day status
- Burn Permits are Valid only on days which are determined "permissive Burn Days" by the State Air Resources Board or
Local Air Pollution Control District, pursuant to Section 39298 of the Health and Safety Code. - Burn Permits are Void during Suspension of Burning by the FIRE CHIEF.
- Burn Permits do not relieve the user of any legal responsibility for the safe use of fire or allow burning be done in
violation of any state law, county ordinance or local regulations restricting or regulating the use of fire. - Burn Barrels are Illegal in the State of California

| REMEMBER: Check your smoke detectors every six months! When you set your clocks for daylight savings time you should change your batteries. Smoke detectors should be located in all bedrooms and hallways, near the doors and heating and air conditioning vents is best. Don't forget all families should have an exit plan, and they should practice often. |

vegetation fire, you are going to want to think about
defensible space. What is defensible space ? Defensible space
is a 30 Ft. area around your home, cleared of tall, dry
vegetation and other flammable materials. In addition all
vegetation within 100 Ft. should be trimmed. This will enable
firefighter to better defend your home from wildfires. In
addition to defensible space you should keeping unnecessary
debri, such as wood piles and other rubbish away from
